Literature Text

But the words…

How do I tell you,
How do I say it?
I know what I feel

But the words,
they do not come

These feelings inside, they wish to come out
These feelings wish to be expressed
I want to say it

What if you laughed in my face,
What if you rejected me?

Do you feel as I do
Do you understand what’s inside me
Do you understand?

If you did,
would this be easier?

Do you have an inkling
Do you have a clue as to what’s inside me?
I want you to know

I have to tell you,
but how should I do it?

Should I write it in a letter
Should I sing it in a song
Perhaps I’ll write you a book, professing my love

But the words,
they do not come

But the words,
they do not come

As with most of my poems, this one explains itself.

Oh, I understand this poem so much. To feel something so strongly, but not finding a way to express it.
